Chev V* diesel injector pump timing

Hi,
I am looking for someone in Perth to who can set up the timing on my Stanadyne DB2 mechanical injector fuel pump ie loosen the 3 bolts holding the fuel pump in place and rotate the body to set the timing. I recently removed it for service (200,000k) and found that there were no timing marks on the fuel pump housing with which to align the pump. I wonder if it was ever set up properly during the brunswick conversion around 2010. I have tried united fuel injection but they don't do it.
Any suggestion on who to try?

Give Fremantle Fuel Injection a ring. Don't know if they can help but have found them good to deal with. Good luck.

It will need to be spill timed. You find out from specs the static timing point (might be 5 deg btdc) and set the crank pulley to 5 deg btdc for no1, then with the pump fully retarded, you advance (turn} it slowly till fuel eminates out of the no1 pipe. Google spill timing and you will get more info. Obviously pump and pipe needs to be full of fuel when you do this.

The pipe end from No1 needs to be vertical so detection of fuel flow can be easily and accurately seen. Of course the crank position has to be know for the setting. Then once the pump has been held tight the crank should be turned in reverse direction, eg, 10- 15 degrees and THEN Slowly rotated in normal direction very slowly so when fuel begins to flow out of the upturned pipe and the crank position checked it happens at the correct crank angle. This allows for any slack in the drive system so free play/rotation is eliminated.

Try Perth Fuel Injection in Welshpool. Not sure if they are able to help but as a diesel specialist business they were great to deal with when I had injectors replaced, inlet manifold cleaned etc.

Fremantle Fuel Injection are a registered Stanadyne agent, so it makes sense to go to them.

A lot of fuel injection crowds only specialise in common rail and electronic injection today.

You may be glad you didn't go to United Fuel Injection, a mate had some major dramas with that companys incompetence, with regard to a fuel injection pump repair.
