NT - Barkly Highway

The Barkly Highway, now also promoted as part of the Overlander's Way, is a sealed road connecting the states of Qld & NT. The road connects the Three Ways Roadhouse in the Northern Territory to the township of Cloncurry in Queensland.

NT - Binns Track - Alice Springs to Bonney Well

This section of the Binns Track covers the section between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek and is 4WD only but can be negotiated with offroad caravans and trailers.

NT - Binns Track - Buchanan Hwy

This route from Top Springs to the Victoria Highway near Timber Creek is the Buchanan Highway. It is part of a longer tourist route named the Binns Track and in this area is the easier option than the 4WD section of Binns via Gregory National Park and is suitable for towing offroad caravans.

This trek provides access into the Gregory National Park (Judbarra) from the east via a turn off from the Buchanan Highway. 4WD, high clearance vehicles only. No caravans.

NT - Boggy Hole

Finke Gorge is located within the Finke Gorge NP south of the West MacDonnell Ranges in the Alice Springs region. The most popular attraction is Boggy Hole, a permanent billabong of the Finke River. This is a good 4WD route to Uluru and/or Kings Canyon.

NT - Carpentaria Highway

The Carpentaria Highway is a 381 kilometre highway, which runs from near Daly Waters to Borroloola in the Northern Territory Australia. It is a sealed road and is part of National Highway 1.

NT - Chambers Pillar

Chambers Pillar is a natural sandstone formation used by our famous early explorers as a navigational point. You can still read their signatures and inscriptions carved into the rock. It is also a beautiful photographic subject in a remote 4WD area.

NT - Finke to Uluru via Old Gunbarrel

An alternative route to access the wonderful Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park, this trip from Finke east of the Stuart Highway takes in the Lambert Centre - the planimetric gravitational centre of Australia, and a short section of the Old Gunbarrel Highway before intersecting the main route of the Lasseter Highway near Curtain Springs. An ideal trip for those combining their trip to the Red Centre with an extended 4WD adventure of nearby Chambers Pillar, Old Andado, or even the Simpson Desert.

NT - Gregory National Park

Gregory NP is around 13,000 square kms comprising of two sections - a smaller northeast section along the Victoria Hwy and a much larger southern section between the Victoria and Buntine Highways. This trek, which is entirely in the latter, contains a network of rather challenging 4WDing in a very remote and scenic region, taking in famous icons such as the Bullita Stock Route.

NT - Hay River

Suitable only to 4WDers with a strong sense of adventure and experience in remote desert travel. This track is largely unmarked and good map-reading skills are essential.

NT - Kakadu

NT - Litchfield

NT - Madigan Line

The Madigan Line runs from north east of Old Andado Station then east across to Adria Downs Station before turning south down to the QAA Line. From there it is east to Birdsville via Big Red.

NT - Mereenie Loop

Linking the West MacDonnell Ranges and the World renowned resorts of Kings Canyon and Yulara, the Mereenie Loop Road gives visitors to the Red Centre a chance to see some spectacular scenery, without the need for backtracking to the Stuart Highway. This route is more appealing than the much longer sealed detour and is as Australian as it gets, passing through some of the Northern Territory’s most spectacular countryside.

NT - The Tanami Track
