Much-branched shrub, 0.3-4 m high. Fl. red/white-yellow, Apr to Nov. White sand, red clay, brown and white gravel, limestone. Plateaus, coastal cliffs, hillsides, road verges.

Dense shrub to 2m. tall, much branched. Leaves oval, widest at the end away from the stem. Large dusky red pea flowers (3cm long) in which the standard petal is reflexed (bent backwards).&lt;br /&gt;
