Glabrous resinous shrub or small tree to 7 m high, branches non-tuberculate.

Leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, 7–20 cm long, 4.5–14 mm wide, apex attenuate, margins entire or rarely toothed, glabrous.

Flowers solitary in axils; pedicel 5–24 mm long. Sepals imbricate, ovate, 5–10.5 mm long, 3–4.5 mm wide, apex acute to attenuate, glabrous, green. Corolla 20–30 mm long, cream tinged pink or brown above, rarely carmine, spotted carmine or yellow-brown, glabrous outside; lobes obtuse. Stamens extending to just beyond throat or enclosed.

Fruit ovoid, 15–20 mm long, 10–15 mm diam., split towards apex, glabrous.
