HF Radio aerial

Hi RMD,
Your correct I should have been more descriptive.
It's a dual cab with a tub.
Its the weight of the arial which concerns me.
Most times I tow a Jayco outback as well which might help with the answers.

Now the next question is: Do you have just the tub OR a canopy too? If just the tub I would be mounting to the headboard/frame with a suitable bracket and possibly braced to the rear to handle any stress loading.
The actual bracket would have a hinge at the rear so it could easily be folded rearwards by the removal of a cross lock pin for when low access is required. As long as you have the active section of the antennae above the vehicle it should perform well.

If a canopy, that would need some internal frame to suitable points and some sealed holes in the canopy so the unit is held securely to internal frame and still have the external bracket and fold down feature.

I added a frame to inside my canopy to handle additional units on the canopy outer. Mostly solar panels though.

I don't think Terlin operates any more used to be at every 4wd camping expo in WA until around 2010

Not many genuine two way radio specialists here either most deal with mining high tier network systems in WA
