These radios were and still are quite a good unit, I have one and it has the most useful (in Western Australia), VKS 737 channels, though it doesn't get used too often, I do still have it as a base station when I am in some place where the auto tune antenna finds it hard to tune into a VKS station on the vehicle mounted 9323.

I use a 'Fire Cracker' wire antenna that can simply be thrown over scrub, or hoisted up into a taller tree, they might be considered to be an old relic by some, but still okay even in the 21st century.

Sell it. I sold an old Codan 240V to 12V power supply a year or two ago that had been sitting in my shed for 20 years. There are people out there that collect this stuff and will get some enjoyment out of it.

Get it re-crystalled for the 4wd network you are using, and keep it as a backup in case the main unit carks it. I have one in my car all the time as a backup.
