Departed Lyndon River
camp at 8.40am after a nice breakfast of toast and coffee - having become coffee officianos, we now take a perculator, coffee beans and coffee grinder on camping trips. There's nothing quite like starting a day with a good coffee.
At 9.40 we reached the turnoff to
Ningaloo Road. We took a 10 minute stop to reduce tyre pressures on both vehicles and the boat trailer and we reached the
gate at
Ningaloo Station (45km south of the
Cape Range National Park) at 10.25am, making the trip down
Ningaloo Road with the boat trailer a total of 35mins.
Our plan was to
camp at South Lefroy Bay, so arriving early in the day gave us the ideal opportunity to pick a
good camp. It took most of the day to setup
camp as we would be stopped here for 3 weeks.
My next entry will summarise the trip - including all the pre-trip preparation and equipment used for powering etc.
