Australia
is a diverse country with a very rich gold history. Since the first gold rush of 1851, each state has provided
gold bearing areas and even today, there is still more gold to be discovered. For the beginner, a basic understanding of geological maps
and knowing where to find these gold bearing areas is a good start but there's more to it than this as we learn from experienced prospector
Les Lowe.

New ExplorOz Features Map Search
We’ve found new methods of making searches more intuitive in
Places. Rather than have only text results shown below the map,
you can now narrow down your search result using Map Search. Simply left-click with your mouse to draw a box in the area of
the map where you require more detail.
Trek Feature If you click
Treks in the main menu, notice the new interactive hover-over box that improves access to trek notes.
The entry view is defaulted to show the ten most popular trek notes, highlighted as ‘Top 10’, but move your mouse to hover
over the other boxes to view Trek Notes by State.
Advertisement Globalstar – New satellites and a new constellation! In recent months Globalstar’s satellite constellation has been showing signs of ageing.
So what is being done about it? Globalstar will launch 4 spare satellites in late may, followed by
another 4 later this year. The deployment of these satellites will deliver noticeable improvements in
the satellite gaps customers are experiencing. Globalstar also has firm plans to launch their next generation
constellation commencing in 2009 - the only LEO provider fully funded to deliver upon these plans.
With these plans Globalstar expect to be able to provide reliable satellite service out to 2025.
