I've never seen any there.

Yes he has. He's thin enough to turn around down there as well! I haven't been able to do that since 2008 lol.

ha, Mick - my carbohydrate intake isn't what it used to be. I'll need heavy duty springs on the quad soon.

Allan - yes have been down to the bottom of the well. Just I find it hard to imagine that any snake that may have be in there - will have a hard time getting out again, so wouldn't last very long. Same goes for prey - it seems like a one way ticket all round.

I've never seen any snakes, bones or even snake skin in the numerous times I been down there. Mind you I haven't been beyond the first chamber because they didn't make it wide enough for normal sized people- lol.

Its probably a precautionary statement to say there are snakes about. Years ago when one could crawl down Mujingerra/Muningerra cave (now collapsed)on the CSR - king browns were a serious possibility.

I was there just over a week ago

Hi Alan .
Never seen any in there but if you take a snare with you ,you may be able to rescue any unfortunate snake that may have fallen in. The best thing about a snare is you can keep the snake at arms length while you climb back up. Hold the tail in one hand and the snare in the other. About 4ft is a good length. As you may have gathered I quite like snakes and hate seeing them killed.

I probably wont have a snare on me next to I go, but I'll go back outside and make one if I see a snake. :-)

I do agree though, Snakes are part of the ecosystem so they deserve the any chance they can get!!!!!

Wouldnt know but I can tell you snakes definitely do go down spots they cant get out from.
One place I worked had an abandoned swimming pool we rescued some snakes from.
Small ones like orange naped snakes/moon snakes
