Canter single wheel conversion

Len, sounds like the diameter of the singles is quite a bit bigger than the duals.
what size were the duals and what size are the singles. Rob J

Dont use overdrive...5th gear..you seem to have already changed the gearing with a larger rolling diamtre tyre.

Use of an EGT guage would be showing you a hotter fuel burn in 5th now..as also evidenced in the reduced distance on 120 litres. Did you also apply a correction to the distance travelled with the larger diametre tyres..?

Did you change the fronts for super singles as well or just the rear duals?

Probably an imaginary problem caused by an odometer not recording distance accurately.
Fix the odometer.

Google up a 'tire comparison chart' , your old size tire compared to the new size will give you how much your odometer is out and how much your speedo is now out ,,,, recently changed from standard size 265/70/17 to 285/70/17 which put the Toyota speedometer 100% accurate for speed [ factory tires =96km by gps while speedo reads 100 .. Now 100 gps = 100 on speedometer] …. but the Odometer is 4% per 100 km out of whack .IE a known distance of 100 km driveway to driveway now only reads as 96 km on the odometer...

You must have gone to something like a 40 inch tyre? As stated before, you might be better off trying the same run but not using top gear to get the revs similar to before. Big rubber like that is definitely going to cost fuel though. I'll bet you aren't running 85 odd psi any more either?

More importantly you now have 2 tyres taking the weight of the 4 previous ones.

What is the maximum loading on the new ones and are they legal.

The engine is probably lugging in top gear and overfueling which will cause your increase in consumption

I have a 2014 isuzu nps with warrior single conversion & I'm thinking going back to a smaller wheel to get the gearing back as it's fine out west with the big wheels but most of the time on on coast with hills but I would not have duals no matter what
