Ulupna Island on Grand Final weekend

Thinking of heading to Ulupna Island on the Murray for the Grand Final long weekend with the kids and their families - 3 camp sites.
Never been there before and wondering how busy it will be and if dogs are allowed.
Any thoughts appreciated

On the other hand, WikiCamps shows the only campground amongst the four that is dog free is the Ulpna Beach on Murray.

The pain of dog ownership and National Park camping.

I would not trust Wiki on this, it's only as good as what people put in.

Is the place you want to camp in the park boundaries as shown here ?

If so, it's unlikely dogs would be allowed (or on the NSW side in their Nat Pk area), but a quick call to confirm with parks would be worth a shot, they might have a spot there dog friendly.

There is a little confusion here. The map on WikiCamps shows an area labeled as Barmah State park extending from Barmah to near Tocumwal. Les - PK Ranger's map shows Barmah National Park as the western end of that region. The eastern (Tocumwal) end is labeled as the Murray River Reserve. This is a different classification to a national park and dogs are possibly permitted.

We just need someone who knows to confirm that.

From what I've read and heard, the Western side is National Park - no dogs and the Eastern side is state forest and dogs allowed.
Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks and let you know.
I don't travel with dogs but the son and daughter do.

Yep you are right and I have camped at Ulupna many times. Dogs are allowed at Carters Beach and any beach east of Carters. Great camps sights but don't camp under the river gums or you could end up squashed by falling branches.
