has anyone driven this route in 4wd recently please? I'm currently camped at Baxter Cliffs, driven from
Israelite Bay.

We did it in 2018, doubt if conditions would have changed, due to excessive traffic!
Slow going, scratchy at times, but certainly worth it. Took us almost a full day, though we had a latest start from
Twilight Cove, and also drove out to Baxter Cliffs, before camping in the
clearing back where the tracks
junction.

thanks Bob. Most helpful. Sadly, weather forecast (possible 10-20mm rain, possible thunder storms) caught up with us. We exited through
Caiguna. Hopefully we'll try another time.

Haven’t done that stretch, Peter.
We headed down from Cocklebiddy, spent night at
Twilight Cove & after walking out to the coast & back, then made our way along the old Telegraph Line.
Seen a video of someone travelling East along the coast from Twilight, just don’t recall who it was?

Thanks Bob.
Couple of months ago we went down to the cliffs from
Caiguna. Would like to explore the area some more, but it is slow going, so need lots of time.
Cheers,
Peter

Great, thanks Bob.
And a couple from the Baxter cliffs south of
Caiguna a couple of months ago.

EDIT.
I have to say I was fascinated with some of the vegetation on top of the
cliff. It looked like it might have been hundreds of years old. I guess it has a pretty tough life.

G’day Joe, how’s things? Better have a catch up tomorrow, eh?
Peter, when we went out to Baxter Cliffs, it was very late in the day, and we didn’t stay long as it was blowing a gale. It’s obvious how different the vegetation is close to the Cliffs.
Our camp back at the Caiguna/Telegraph Line was much more settled.
If you muster a travel buddy, it’s a great journey down Wylie Scarp & along
the beach, past
Bilbunya Dunes, to
Israelite Bay.

we spent two nights camped on top of the cliffs, back about 100m for some relief from wind. Walks along the top (with down jackets!). This time of year the afternoon sun never got round to lighting up the cliffs to the east. I wondered if it ever did. We were as surprised at grass growing a few km from the
cliff as we were the very low coastal vegetation in cracks in the
limestone pavement. I didn't get deep into it, people at
Eyre Bird Observatory talked of bands of vegetation parallel to the coast. Some quite narrow. Different bands different birds etc. Inland from Point Malcolm/
Israelite Bay to Baxter was constant change. Acres of banksia to low heath just part of it.
