Canning Stock Route - Cannings Cairn & Durba Springs etc

Back in 1996 , I took a bunch of Army folks up the Canning (& across the Simpson). I've done it twice since & a mate & I are now thinking of doing it again next year.
It is such a great trip & so many great things to see & do.
One of the things we did with the Army group was drop half of us off at what I think was Biella Spring & we made our way cross country (walking) back to our camp at Durba Springs; not a massive walk but a lot of fun I remember.
I'm thinking of doing something similar next year & wondering if there are any better 'walks' to do in that area. eg: start at Cannings Cairn, or Sunday Well, or vicinity Killagurra and walk to Durba Springs .. ie are there any particularly interesting gorges/creeklines to walk in near there????
