Carlinkit on Next Gen Ranger XLT
Finaly got the Carlinkit for the Traveler App bought through here to work, instructions are crap. Good old YouTube [How to install AI box plus to have wireless Android Auto, Netflix and YouTube] by Auto Sensation. Took less than five minutes. I don't have a Sim card in it just an SD micro, The hardest part was trying to stop the car from shutting down every ten minutes, while downloading the App auto shut down plus low power shut down, turned lights off auto plus a solar panel on battery helped.
Its a lot easier to read than my phone just to the side of steering wheel, no need for glasses reading on main screen. Radio still works while running but haven't worked out how to get music from phone while its running yet.

Reference to Carlin Kit.
Hi Matthew, did you have to download Exploroz to the AI box before connecting to the vehicle?

Hi Ian F
No you set it up first to the car[watch that you tube video it makes more sense than the instructions] then you download ExplorOz. After you have connected it to the car, just pressed the Play Store button find the App and download as normal. On set up some info pops up really quick which you have to press before it disappears, by the time you read it its gone takes a couple of go to work it out but defiantly worth it.

Matthew,
Thanks for the info. Desperately want to get Exploroz onto my Wildtrak display so this does look like the way to do it. Where I am a little confused is the U tube video you mention shows setting it up with carplay but is it not an Android device? Also once your phone is connected can you still use the head unit for taking phone calls?
Probably silly questions but as stated a tad confused in what I have been reading.
Kindest Regards
Graham

Hi Graham
I have an Android phone [Oppo] i am not sure how it works if you have an Iphone as all i saw was Play Store symbol found the App and down loaded it. The best bet if you have an Iphone is give the help line a ring as Michele would use one, shes very helpful. Got the wife to ring my phone while it was running came through the ute no worry's.
It was doing my head in at the start.
Regards Matt
