Hi again Peter.
As stated before, I prefer the very latest information on the flooding, as unfortunately it is not making the news, and from all reports it is only going to get worse over the coming weeks.
Here is an example of my latest updates from 10am today…..
The Cooper’s Creek is still rising at
Windorah, and was at 8.75m this morning and they have lost all mobile phone coverage.
Some of the creeks a little north have dropped around 20cm overnight, the they are all expected to rise again rappidly from the floodwaters north of
Longreach.
eg….the
Aramac Creek is currently running higher than the biggest 1974 floods, and water will then hit the
Thomson River, around 60 kilometres north of
Longreach.
Unlike our last big floods here in South Australia back in 2010 and 2011, the
Cooper Creek area was in drought and the flow of water was greatly slowed down by the parched soil absorbing the water.
Now here in 2025 the hole area in our northern areas is already underwater for local flooding, so this time they expect once the water does hit the Cooper here in South Australia, it will hit with vengeance.
Keep Safe.
