Types of Tours

This article lists the different sorts of 4WD Tours on offer by commercial operators in Australia and defines the differences between each.

Member - DAZA (QLD)

The Cook has her heart set on going on a Helicopter Tour over the Katherine Gorge and later over Kakadu ect, I swore I wouldn't put my bum in one again but anything to keep her happy, (I'm a soft touch) so can anyone recommend any operators.

I don't know about tour operators but choppers are the ONLY way to fly !

Why do you have a problem with them ? :-)

I am ex RAAF and love flying in choppers of any kind anywhere any time !

I agree, much better view from a chopper than fixed wing. For my money I would do the tour in the middle of the wet though. Just my two bobs worth.

I would always put my money on the one that returned you and other passengers safetly to your point of embarkation. Good luck.

We went on a Katherine Gorge tour last week. 6 people, did 3 trips with 2 people each time. 20 mins for $160 each. Pretty reasonable rate as it was with Scott from Helimuster NT and they are located about 15kms on the Gorge Road. Great trip and wonderful views and nothing was too much trouble for him. Phone No. 89720777. Can go on longer trips and different places but this is what we wanted and it was what we got. Very happy.
