We continued to backtrack today and made our way to Camera Site C & the heavily corrugated track towards Emu although we opted to pick up an alternate track that could not have been used for 1-2 years by the look of it. Despite being nothing more than faint wheel tracks, and often no track, it was a good shortcut to Emu & we popped out onto the
airstrip just north of our earlier
camp. We spent time exploring the remaining relics &
ruins of Emu for some time before heading west out on the AB.
The track was mostly sandy over gentle dunes with more patches of wild-flowers to delight the senses. We took a long stop at the site of an abandoned caravan (Jayco Dove) that should never have been brought out here!
Camp was made in the scrub at days end with a 3 meal extravaganza - noodles with beef & beans for Chardae, Honey Soy Chicken (Back Country Cuisine) for Leah, and a
camp oven roast Tuscan lamb for David & I. Sounds complicated but the kids meals only needed boiling water hehe ;)
