The ExplorOz Shop have been busy adding shop items over the
past fortnight, to ensure that we have everything you need for the upcoming Easter break. There are some great newCronin’s Key Guide books for nature lovers,
additional Eflare Safety Beacons
for any tricky situations you may face, a new Gregory’s 4WD book
filled with short getaway ideas, a special limited edition Len Beadell Collection
to help inspire you while you travel, and a new ExplorOz Sun Hat - Khaki
available. If you wish to submit
feedback after reading an article ortrek note, you have the choice to send it to theforum or the ExplorOz team. Generally, most feedback should go to the forum for further
discussion, and this will also ensure the feedback is shown in the article or trek
note for others to read. Those that wish to submit
feedback to the ExplorOz team only - should
therefore place a tick in the ‘Visibility’
checkbox. We receive many emails
where registered users have replied to an
automatically generated forum reply or
follow-up notification. These emails only
notify you that you received a
reply/follow-up - therefore any response
needs to be done via theforum. Also, we are
seeing new forum posts that continue or
thank someone from a previous post. We
prefer if these are kept together in the one
post by placing a follow-up to their useful
reply within the original post.ExplorOz
Members have further tools to consider using
such as Member Messaging, Thread Watch, and
View Updates in members My Home. With our highly ranked
position in search engines such as Google,
we receive many phone calls originating from
product searches that were only pointing to
discussion pages within ourforum.
Although we promptly direct the relevant
calls to advertisers in our directory
- unfortunately most queries are not
relevant and go no further. If you have a
business, please consider our search engine
rank, and the benefits of advertising in our
directory.Business Membership is easy to
setup online and starts from just $60. We have finally started work on the next generation of iMapPlot with the goal of providing a better interactive
map experience, the ability to create your own routes, improved outback routing coverage and eventually - user treks.
We will keep you posted as developments continue but in the meantime, we hope you enjoy our new route profiler
in Driving Directions andPlaces. The route profile graph reveals the maximum and minimum gradient levels.
This elevation data is very
accurate - obtained from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM). Special note to our Lifetime Members – due to a
programming delay we have not yet installed the automatic feature to enable Lifetime Members
to use more than 1 of their allocated 5 free Display ads in the ExplorOz trader. Until this program has been upgraded you will need to contact
our office (either by phone or email) for a manual update of your member record before you can load another Members Free Display ad.
