Hi ExplorOz Reader, We were so busy last week finalising EOTopo 2015 that our regular Thursday newsletter didn't go out. We hope you didn't panic too much but we're back on track now. Our most breaking news, is that moments ago, we modified the site menu tabs slightly. The Events & Contact tabs have been removed from the end of the line. The Home tab is now a pull down list, so go there if you're looking for our contact details, feedback form, want to advertise, or find out more about us.
| Members Photo Comp - start looking through your photo libraries for the perfect shot to submit to our new Photo Comp.
The theme is "The Rustic Outback", so think windmills, old vehicles in paddocks, ruins, quaint and quirky outback signs etc. If you don't have the perfect shot, what a great excuse to head into the outback and take a fresh new photo.
The winning photo will be selected based on its suitability to be reproduced by an artist who will paint the image onto a saw blade (thanks to Jan's Country Art). This unique and collectible art piece will then be raffled off to raise funds for charity at the 2015 ExplorOz National Gathering to be held at Ross River Resort, Northern Territory in July.
To participate in the 2015 Photo Comp you'll need to be a Member in order to submit your photo as a blog. Tag your blog entry to the Photo Comp 2015 category to enter. Competition is now open and closes 1st February 2015.

| Bloomin' News - Kennedia
is a genus of plants in the big Pea family (Fabaceae). There are 16 species, all native to Australia. All are evergreen climbing plants with woody stems. They usually have leaves with 3 leaflets and pea-type flowers of colours ranging from pink to dark red and yellow to black. They can be found from moist forests to semiarid areas across most states. The little Running Postman (Kennedia prostrata) with bright red flowers, and the striking Black Coral Pea (K. nigricans) are often included in gardens where the latter will quickly cover bare fences.
