The Birrar track is an easy walk through the Tutamonlin forest along the banks of Malan (North Johnstone"
River). The track is 1 km long (return) and will take around 35 minutes to complete.The birrarr (red tulip oak) is one of the largest trees in this forest
-60m high and 5m in diameter.
The distinctive buttresses on birrar were used to make manan (boomerangs), string fibre for tying or just to shelter from the rain.
