July/August, 2007 - This "caravan park" was/possible still is part of a local fishing club - the write-up in the local tourist/travel guide sounded impressive and the photos of the
boat ramp made the place a real possiblity to launch relatively large (ours is a 9 metre cat) trailable boat(s) - concrete with floating dock - and it was good. Sadly however the caravan park aspect was not up to expectations - the conditions weren't great but we would have lived with that for the convenience - the very big downer and it was BIG ... the attitude of the manager.
Despite having rung on 2 occasions to speak with the park manager and
check availabity, when we did arrive there was no one in attentance at the office and no info of where to find someone. While we waited we drove through to the
boat ramp to
check it out - and fill in time having some lunch. We were ultimately approached by the manager informing us/demanding to know if we knew we were "on private property".
When we explained the situation she told us that she had been in the park all day etc, etc - long and short of it - our relationship went downhill very quickly - ending with us leaving to find another/any other more pleasant, hospitable and welcoming place to stop for the night.
We won't be going back to Molongle Creek and we wouldn't recomend it to anyone else either - shame really the
boat ramp looked great and possibly the fishing would have been too - we will never never know - because we will never never go (again).
