WHAT'S IN THE MAP UPDATE?
We are thrilled to confirm that we can now offer our customers regular updates to maps.
These updates are specifically targetted to the roads, tracks and Places data which change
frequently. The 2023.1 update is for the LoRes and HiRes map packs.
There is no update for the Contour or Terrain & Hillshade Pack, so the update is a 1.4 GB download.
HOW DO I GET THE UPDATE?
The update process to the new maps is simple. First, you will update the Traveller app to version 8.1
(available in the app store as usual).
This version will automatically detect if you qualify for the map update and you'll be guided to the
Data Manager where the Offline Map Pack section will display the EOTopo 2023 downloads with 2 update buttons, one each alongside the LoRes and HiRes map packs.
The update buttons will delete your existing map files and download the new files.
HOW MANY FREE UPDATES CAN I EXPECT?
Complimentary updates will only occur to the
current edition mapset (eg. 2023), ie. free updates during the year of release.
When a new edition is released, the previous edition is
removed from sale and no more updates are released for the previous edition.
HOW LONG WILL I BE ABLE TO KEEP USING THE 2023 MAPS?
Like all our previous editions of EOTopo, the EOTopo 2023 mapset will be supported in the ExplorOz
Traveller App for 4 years (until 2027). During that time you will have no further ongoing cost or subscription to use
those maps and you can continue to download the 2023 map packs to any future devices you may get.
We will however, continue to release new EOTopo editions annually so when we release these new editions its up to you to decide if you want
to purchase access to the latest map updates.
