Rocket Rod
I'm in need of some corrugated tracks near
Brisbane to put my new offroad caravan (AOR Quantum) to the torch and see if I can rattle some things loose in prep for its 2000km service. After that, we travel back to
Perth via the top end so I need to have anything sorted prior to that.
Anything within 500km would be good and take up to 4 days.

The last time I drove the road east from
Surat it was pretty rough ......
Surat Development road I think.
Surat is south of
Roma.
Cheers

Hi Rod
You could try the Cooloola Way road from
Kin Kin north to the
Rainbow Beach Road. Then head west to
Goomeri and onto Murgon and take the
Kilcoy Murgon road back to
Kilcoy. From there back to Caloundra for the service. That will give you a variety of terrain to test the camper out, as
well as some nice campsites. Plenty of things to see as
well dependent upon time.
From a fellow AOR Quantum owner and Sunshine Coast local.

Take a trip North on the Bruce Hwy. More like a goat track and a bloody disgrace that it is even called a highway.

.
Count your blessings Bigfish. In the years before 1970 most of it was unsealed and colloquially known as the "Crystal Highway" due to the piles of broken windscreen glass at the roadside.
But yes, today it could be better.

Unfortunately for Queenslanders, unless you live in the S.E. you are nothing but peasants that are not worthy of good
infrastructure or govt monies. Billions are found for bullshit tunnels and expressways but the rest of state cannot get decent roads, railways or even medical
services. Still...I suppose its 100 times better than trying to survive in Victoria.

Did you know that the Bruce Highway is in the Guiness Book of World Records or being the longest series of interconnected pot holes?
And the ADF still regard it as Australia's best form of defence from a northern invasion!
