The Department of Defence has issued the following notice containing revised exclusion timings for the
Woomera Prohibited Defence Area.
CHANGES TO EXCLUSION PERIODS - DEFENCE PERIODIC USE AMBER ZONES 1 AND 2
AMBER ZONE 1
• The exclusion period for non-Defence users for the
Woomera Prohibited Area Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 1 (refer above diagram) which was to have been activated between 16 February - 22 March 2015 has been cancelled.
• The exclusion period for non-Defence users for which was to have been activated between 18 May - 28 June 2015 has been reduced. The new exclusion period is 18 May 2015 - 7 June 2015.
AMBER ZONE 2
The exclusion period for non-Defence users for the
Woomera Prohibited Area Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 2 (refer above diagram) which was to have been activated between 18 May and 28 June 2015 has been cancelled.
EXCLUSION PERIODS THAT REMAIN IN FORCE
The exclusion periods that remain in force for the 2014 - 15 financial year are:
Amber Zone – South-Eastern Corner (Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 1)
• 18 May - 7 June 2015
Amber Zone – Centre-line Corridor (Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 2)
• None scheduled.
Defence is currently finalising the Amber Zone exclusion periods for the 2015-16 Financial Year. These will be promulgated by end March 2015.
Defence would like to advise initial notification of a likely Green Zone closure commencing July 2015
PRELIMINARY ADVICE: GREEN ZONE (Infrequent Defence Use) EXCLUSION NOTICE - July-August 2015
Parts of the Green Zone will be closed between 20 July and 2 August 2015. The closure may affect access to the following Standing Permission Routes:

Tarcoola to
Darwin Rail Line
• Stuart Highway
•
William Creek Road
• Public Access Route 18 (Lake Cadibarrawirracanna Road)
Further details about the closure will be notified shortly.

Persons who hold an existing access permission under the Defence Force Regulations 1952 should contact the
Woomera Test Range on (08) 8674 3370 or email
woomera.enquiries.gov.au to discuss access to the Periodic Use Amber Zones 1 or 2 during the upcoming exclusion periods.
NOTIFICATIONS AND EXCLUSION PERIOD VARIATIONS
Defence will endeavour to give non-Defence users affected by exclusion periods as much notice as possible, including instances where Defence may exercise its right to cancel or amend a published exclusion period.
