Woomera P.A. Exclusion Zones
Department of Defence have updated their requirements for the protected areas as shown below; basically
clearing any requirements for the remainder of 2016.
NB This will effect the Anne Beadell Track.
CHANGES TO EXCLUSION PERIODS- DEFENCE PERIODIC USE AMBER ZONES 1 AND 2
AMBER ZONE 1
The exclusion period for non-Defence users for the
Woomera Prohibited Area Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 1 (refer above diagram) which was to have been activated between 30 October - 10 December 2016 will be cancelled.
AMBER ZONE 2
The exclusion period for non-Defence users for the
Woomera Prohibited Area Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 2 (refer above diagram) which was to have been activated between 30 October - 19 November 2016 will be cancelled.
EXCLUSION PERIODS THAT REMAIN
The exclusion periods that remain for the 2016 - 17 financial year are
Amber Zone – South-Eastern Corner (Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 1)
• 26 February - 25 March 2017
• 14 May - 30 June 2017
Amber Zone - Centre-line Corridor (Defence Periodic Use Amber Zone 2)
Includes a section of the Anne Beadell Highway.
• 26 February - 11 March 2017
• 11 June - 30 June 2017

Persons who hold an existing access permission under the Defence Force Regulations 1952 should contact the
Woomera Test Range on (08) 8674 3370 or email
woomera.enquiries.gov.au to discuss access to the Periodic Use Amber Zones 1 or 2 during the upcoming exclusion periods.
NOTIFICATIONS AND EXCLUSION PERIOD VARIATIONS
Defence will endeavour to give non-Defence users affected by exclusion periods as much notice as possible, including instances where Defence may exercise its right to cancel or amend a published exclusion period.
