Android Carlink kit

Yesterday I installed the new Carlink kit on my son’s Ford Ranger. Despite never before using an Android device I was able to set the adapter quite quickly.
Couple of comments
1. You don’t need a SIM card in the adapter. You can use phone hotspot setup.
2. Given that you want to download map, places etc, you’ll probably find a WiFi connection gives quicker down loads than 4G.
3.When connecting to car check if you can keep ignition on without motor running. On the Ford Ranger it protests after about 30 mins.
4. If you’re not used to how Android software / systems work it’s a good idea to do a Google or YouTube search on such simple things as how to move around apps and close apps.
5. Be prepared to be impressed! Software runs beautifully and today I did my first trip with it. Very happy with system.
