That was on the Old Tele Track, plenty of larger vehicles travel to Cape York and back without incurring any damage. Plenty of 70 Series Landcruisers have come to grief on the OTT.

Interesting video. The OTT seems to have got much worse than when we first travelled it in 2010.
But we did have the benefit of a Troopy which provided good underbody clearance and a somewhat narrower body. Our creek crossings were uneventful.
Interesting that Pat Callinan offered the same advice as the procedure we used…. wait at the crossing and observe others in order to determine the appropriate line.

That's what happens when you take a 250k vehicle that was designed to tow horse floats on the road into 4wd territory then you have to expect damage.
The Leyland brothers had trouble back in the day as well when they thought an f100 would be good off road and should have stuck with the landrovers like Pat should have stayed with his Nissan patrol which was designed for the task.
Lesson learnt now he's realised it's not fit for purpose no matter how much money you throw at it. He'll have to sip his beer from his keg in glasses in more subdued regions and leave his son to the harder stuff.

I met a bloke with a near new 200 series there a few years ago. He had taken on the OTT with his mates and there wasnt a straight panel left on it with only front and rear screens intact.
