Victorian National Parks Camping and Accommodation Fees
The following is a copy of a press release dated 15th May 2014.
“There are around 680 campgrounds in Victoria's parks and
reserves, costing significant public funds to maintain and operate each year. These costs need to be recovered so that Victorians and visitors can continue to experience nature safely and with accessible and clean campgrounds and facilities.
Revised fare structures for camping in Victoria's national parks and
reserves will be introduced from 1 July.
Concessions for school groups and means-tested concession card holders will apply. There is also a shoulder period in addition to the peak and off-peak seasons.
The user-pays approach will apply to 195 out of 680 of Victoria's campsites in national, state and coastal parks and
reserves. The fares will be directed back into campsites across the state for safety and maintenance measures.
