We have been trying for a number of years, to get to the
Betoota races. The weather and circumstances have prevented us.
This year all our ducks seem to be in line.
We had a early start with the intention of making
Eulo by the end of the day.
Due to the traffic and road conditions around
Toowoomba and
Dalby, we decided to go via
Warwick and
Goondiwindi.
We camped at the back of the
Eulo pub and had an evening with the locals in the pub.
The second day was a leisurely start as we only had a short drive to
Kilcowera station via
Thargomindah. Kilcowera has a variety of accommodation options from the shearers quarters, camping in the grounds of the shearers quarters with facilities to
bush camping at
the lagoon.
From Kilcowera we travelled to Epsilon station on the SA/Qld boarder.
We left Epsilon and travelled up the Arrabury road. We bush camped alongside a very nice lagoon.
The next day it was on to
Haddon corner then to
Betoota. We spent three nights at
Betoota and left on Sunday after the races on Saturday.
