The day started with heavy fog. We did the washing and packing to join the boat tomorrow. Then we drove to see Bitter Springs and take some photographs as we had no camera when we went swimming yesterday.

Elsey Homestead Replica an authentic copy of the original hand hewn cypress pine homestead. It was constructed for the film ‘We of the Never Never’ and now displays historic information and artefacts.

The homestead is located next to the National Park and the Mataranka Thermal Pools, the difference of these pools is that the sides of the springs are cemented and although the water flows through there is not sufficient current for people to float along they just stay in one spot.

We then came home and had lunch before heading the Bitter Springs once again and spending about 3 hours completing 5 laps of the springs.

An early dinner tonight at home then off to the showgrounds to see Nathan Whippy Griggs - a stock whip performer. A tremendous show from Nathan who lives in Mataranka and travels in the off season around Australia.

Tomorrow we drive to Darwin to join the cruise so we are not sure how much internet we will have, I will try to do the blog or will post the days on our return to Darwin in 11 days.
