Day 51 Munbula Cruise 1

Today we drove to El Questro once again this time to go for a cruise along the gorge. A truly special Cultural River Cruise with the Traditional Owners of El Questro journeying along the breathtaking Chamberlain River in the company of the Ngarinyin people, whose deep connection to this land stretches back tens of thousands of years. We were accompanied by a mother, father and daughter who have lived and grown up in the Kimberley, the father's mother having given birth at a sacred place along the river. They told Dreaming stories, history, and cultural knowledge that have been passed down through countless generations, then we listened to traditional songs and learnt about the plants, animals, and landforms that hold deep spiritual significance.

The other day we were on Australia's longest continuous daily river cruise at Lake Argyle today we were probably on the shortest cruise which was such a special experience. We drifted along the river only about 1-2km with the motor barely making a noise whilst we listened to the music and stories and stopped at the end of the gorge before floating back to the jetty. It was so quiet and still and such a peaceful time for a couple of hours, we feed fish at the end and enjoyed a fresh fruit morning tea.




















We leave Kununurra in the morning, I am sorry there will be no blog for two days as we will be in the Bungle Bungles and we will have no internet, phone, electricity etc
