This sauce adds salty, spicy, sweet and sour flavours to any dish and is easy to make at camp as it requires no cooking. Can prepare ahead or make as required.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 3 teaspoons minced garlic (from a jar is fine)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried chilli flakes (optional)
- 4 chopped shallots (white ends only) - optional
Method
- Step 1Mix all ingredients together in a bowl
- Step 2Pour over any dish - eg. a bowl of fresh pieces of salad vegies with slices of leftover grilled meat, or a bowl of freshly cooked rice noodles
