Hi ExplorOz Reader,

Traveller v10 Issues & Quick Fixes (Android)

IN BRIEF
Most Android users are unaffected. If your app won't open past the blue logo, or you're using a VHEDIA headunit and missing map detail, the fixes below will get you running again in minutes.

SD Card Issue - App Stuck on Splash Screen

This issue only affects users who had EOTopo maps stored on an SD card prior to updating to Traveller v10.

After updating, the app may fail to open past the blue ExplorOz logo.

How to fix:

  • Open your device Settings
  • Select Apps, then ExplorOz Traveller
  • Select Storage, then Clear Data
  • Reopen ExplorOz Traveller and complete the Setup Wizard
  • Do not select SD card storage for map downloads

This appears to be an Android-specific SD card issue in v10 which we are investigating further. Using internal storage will allow the app to run normally.

VHEDIA Headunit – Missing Map Detail

A small number of VHEDIA headunits have shown missing road detail on the main map screen when all four EOTopo map packs are installed.

The map displays correctly in mini-map views (Places, Routes and Track Logs), which suggests a device memory limitation.

How to fix:

  • Open the Traveller app menu
  • Select Data Manager
  • Scroll to Offline Maps
  • Delete one optional map pack (either Contours or Terrain & Hillshade)

The main map screen should then display correctly. We will continue investigating this behaviour for possible improvements in a future update.

Open Support Tickets

If you have already logged a support ticket for either issue and this resolves the problem, please update your ticket so it can be closed.

Thank you for choosing ExplorOz and for supporting Australian-made mapping developed by people who actively use it.
