Description

Rounded shrub growing to about 1.5m tall. Prickles up to 1cm long on stems only. All parts covered with short dense hairs that can be silvery or rusty colour. Succulent fruits are pale coloured when ripe. Flowers up to 2.5cm across. Grows on red sand, clay, loamy & skeletal soils, sandplains & dunes, rocky hills & outcrops, gullies.

Flowering start in June and ends in October.

Identification

The main flower colour is purple.

Uses

Not all wild tomatoes are edible, but this one is.
