Widespread in desert areas, this little plant looks confused about which way is up.
Low, tufted shrub, growing to about 0.6 m high. The leaves are reduced leaving the much-branched, greyish coloured stems to carry out photosynthesis. The red pea flowers are clustered around the base of the plant. Grows in red sand and loam, on sandplains and dunes.
Flowering start in May and ends in December.
Identification
The main flower colour is red. Pea flowers clustered around base of plant, leafless stems.
