This common species is found in woodlands and forests, and even persists in cleared areas. It is a small shrub growing to about 30cm high. The leaves are wider towards the tip than near the base and the bright yellow flowers have a shallow notch in each of the five yellow petals.There are many stamens.
Flowering start in November and ends in February.

The main flower colour is yellow.
