King in his Carriage Orchid

Grows to 100mm - 350mm in height

Native Willow, Greenbush

Native Willow is a medium sized open shrub growing to about 4 metres high. The leaves are about 5cm long, covered with soft white hairs. Buds and seedpods are also hairy.

Cowslip Orchid Hybrid

Very common throughout WA. This is a hybrid type. Grows in dense colonies and is a hybrid between cowslip (C flava) and pink fairies (C. latifolia).

Emu Bush

Woody shrub to 1.5m tall. Leaves closely spaced on stem, almost as wide as long, with a distinct midrib. Flowers mauve/purple and subtended by large pink/purple bracts.

Scarlet Bottle-brush

Scarlet Bottlebrush grows up to 4 metres in height and has stiff, sharply pointed leaves which are 3 to 5 cm long and 4 to 7 mm wide. The flower spikes are 5 to 8 cm in length and about 4 to 5 cm in

Poverty Bush

Erect, open shrub, (0.5-)1-4(-5) m high. Fl. white/cream-yellow/red-pink-purple, Jun to Dec or Jan to Mar. Frequently on red or stony soils. Variety of habitats.

Red Mallee

Mallee, to 5 m high, bark rough on trunk, smooth above. Fl. yellow/cream, Jul. Red-grey loam, limestone. Calcareous flats, stony screes.

Erect annual, herb, 0.05-0.3(-0.5) m high.

Dense low shrub to 50cm high. Leaves deeply lobed, prickly.

Common Smokebush

Erect, multi-stemmed, lignotuberous shrub, 0.3-2 m high. Fl. white-other, Jul to Dec. Sand, gravel, laterite. Sandplains.

Prickly Heath

Straggling stalks covered with long flat leaves that end in a sharp point. Small creamy white flowers in leaf axils. Damp areas near watercourse.

Caladenia denticulata subsp. red flowering

This orchid has the same characteristics as the Yellow spider orchid except that the petals are red in colour.

Common spider orchid

The common white spider orchid, is probably the most misidentified orchid in WA. While common, it has different forms in different areas making for a difficult identification.

Slender, erect shrub, 0.5-1.6 m high. Fl. red, Jun to Dec. Grey sand over laterite, lateritic loam. Hillslopes.

Island Point Spider Orchid
